With trips to Manchester Storm and Guildford Flames facing Ricci and the Stars over the next two days, the Canadian leader will have to use his skillset to help guide some of the newer players through their first visits to two very difficult arenas.
Last Wednesday, we saw Fabrizio lead by example as he scored and assisted on both goals in the 2-1 win over Sheffield Steelers, in Yorkshire, as the Stars beat the English side for the first time this season and made it three wins in a row.
The 11th Stars captain in the Elite League era is well known from his previous stint in the City of Discovery, three years ago and now a much more matured player, Ricci brings a hard-working and dedicated attitude onto the ice every day and combines it with his fast and gritty play-style.
Discussing Fab’s natural leadership talents and his recent performances, Stars Head Coach, Jeff Mason said: “Going back to the last game, I thought Fab had a really good game.
“He contributed those two big points and got us the lead which we had not had against Sheffield yet, then he made a great play on the eventual game winner.
“Fab is a guy that plays hard every night and he is certainly a vocal leader of this team and on Wednesday night in Sheffield, he certainly led by example and I expect him to continue to do that and hopefully be able to continue to have the same impact on the rest of the games, that he has had so far.”
Face-off for Saturday’s game in Manchester is at 7pm and Sunday’s match in Guildford starts at 6pm. You can find the links to both webcasts HERE.
