Hi Stars fans,
For the first year back from the mothballed season due to the pandemic and the significant challenges that this brought to the club, we are happy at the position we find ourselves in heading into one of the final chapters of the season; the Playoff Quarter Final against the Sheffield Steelers.
I don’t want to look back on the season just yet, I think this is premature and our focus is solely on this series.
In any playoff series, it takes a solid 120 minute to get through. We are aware Sheffield are one of the top teams in the league and competed for the championship.
Nonetheless, in the last 20 games we are neck and neck with Sheffield with the same amount of points.
There will be few that completely rule out our chances before the puck is dropped.
We all know Sheffield will be massive favorites for this two legged series but, as a group, we love being the underdogs and are certainly looking forward to the challenge.
Our first game is Saturday night in Sheffield. On a very positive note, we are extremely thankful for the ownership group to allow us to leave a day early.
The decision comes from them but it is due to the tremendous support from our fan base. This is a massive benefit to the players and I can’t tell you how appreciative they are to our group of fans for helping the directors make a quite easy decision.
I know many fans are traveling to Sheffield , which we are hoping will give us the extra boost we need for the first game.
The support has been phenomenal and the players will be giving nothing less than 100% on Saturday and Sunday night.
For Sunday’s game, there is no secret that tickets are selling at an incredible rate. Looking at the ticket sales, the demand is way above our expectations.
Therefore, we do recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as you can. We are anticipating our largest non-Scottish crowd ever in the Elite League era and I can tell you for a fact, this group is extremely excited.
The buzz around the city is incredible for this team and rightly so. They have faced many uphill battles but now they are focused on this next round.
These players LOVE playing at home, so for the final time this season, let’s get loud and proud for them and make sure the Dundee Ice Arena is rocking at 5pm on Sunday night. You can buy tickets HERE!
