TRADE-MART DUNDEE STARS 4 GLASGOW CLAN 5
The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars made another late comeback attempt but time ran out before they could find an equaliser against their Scottish Rivals, Glasgow Clan.

The opening period saw the Stars get straight onto the attack as they tried to get off to a strong start as despite some resistance from the Clan, Dundee would breakthrough to open the scoring inside six minutes.
Breaking out from their own end, Jake Elmer rushed forward down the right wing and squared a perfect pass across the ice onto the blade of Brett Gravelle, who would unleash a rapid wrist shot into the top corner of Lucas Brine’s goal.
Corey Neilson’s men responded well to going a goal behind and began to pile lots of pressure on the Dundee defence, which eventually resulted in an equaliser as Liam Finlay’s slapshot from the blueline in the 10th minute, would beat a screened Richard Sabol in the Dundee net.
Both sides had a number of chances to add to their tallies through the opening 20 minutes but they remained all square heading into the second period.
The visitors would then take the lead on 23 minutes as after a few lucky bounces, Keaton Jameson was able to skate on to a bobbling puck and turn it past Sabol.
As the second period went on the contest became scrappy and feisty as tensions and frustrations grew amongst the two teams but Glasgow would be able to extend their lead to 3-1 as Finlay lifted a backhanded shot over Sabol’s shoulder from point blank range in the 36th minute.
Dundee defenseman, Xavier Pouliot then tried to spark his team back into life as he dropped the gloves and delivered some heavy blows in a quick bout with Nick Prkusic.
After the tilt, the game found some life again and in the third period the Stars were pressing hard for a second goal but instead fell 4-1 behind as Gary Haden capitalised on a bounce in front of the Dundee net, inside 56 minutes.
Although, 33 seconds after the restart Domenic Alberga tucked home a loose puck at the back door to cut the Clan’s lead back down to two goals but Glasgow responded instantly as Deven Sideroff restored their three-goal cushion.
Dundee did not give up and Jonathan McBean would shoot high past Lucas Brine to make it 5-3 as the fourth goal in less than 90 seconds went in and that allowed the Stars to call their timeout and pull their keeper to get an extra attacker on in the dying minutes.
Zach Tsekos would then make it 5-4 with 50 seconds left on the clock as he finished from a wide-open position at the back post but that would be the final goal as the Clan held on to claim the win and hand Dundee their fourth straight defeat.
The two Scottish rivals will do it all again next Saturday in Braehead as they go head-to-head again before the Stars welcome Sheffield Steelers to Tayside next Sunday.
