The Stars stuck with goaltender Jarrett Fiske between the pipes and he would not have much to do in the first period as his side raced into a 5-0 lead after only 14 minutes, with Philippe Sanche firing low under Janis Voris in the Fife goal, to open the scoring after eight minutes.
Over the next six minutes, Kameron Kielly would then tuck the puck under the Latvian before Spencer Naas lifted home a third goal, which then sparked a quick-fire spell where Dundee netted three times in just 83 seconds.
Sanche would then tap home a rebound for his second of the night and Kielly also doubled up by using some fast hands to work the puck past Voris, when he was left all alone in front of the Fife goal.
The home team did hit back before the first break as in the 18th minute, Lucas Chiodo tapped in the rebound from Michael Cichy’s effort which had been saved by Fiske.
Marc LeFebvre’s men would then be held off the scoresheet in the second period after Shane Owen was subbed in for Voris, meanwhile the Flyers pulled another back with Ryan Foss beating the American goaltender to finish off a Fife counter-attack on 34 minutes.
