On Saturday Omar Pacha will take his side across the Tay to Kirkcaldy for the first time this season, hoping to continue the Stars recent success over the Flyers.

This is the away leg of the Challenge Cup group stage fixtures, Dundee were the victors on home ice as they scored five goals in the opening thirteen minutes. However the final score was 7-5 to the Stars as Fife mounted a strong comeback.

This will be the third time the rivals have met this season as Fife claimed victory in the Scottish Elite Cup in Edinburgh and defeated the Stars 6-2.

Both team have shown their offensive capabilities early on in the season as Dundee must be wary of the Fife’s Danick Gauthier, Carlo Finucci and Peter LeBlanc who have already shown their clinical finishing against the Dundonians.

Although Dundee possess their own threats in Jimmy Jensen, Johan Andersson, Adam Harding and Malcolm Gould, to name a few, who have all shown their ability to find the net in multiple situations.

Andy Iles has defended the Fife net in an impressive style, saving 39 out of the 48 shots the Stars skaters peppered him with. Travis Fullerton has also been in impressive form as he has saved over 180 shots in just 7 games and against the Flyers he conceded just 11 goals from 63 shots.

Face-off is at 7:15pm in Kirkcaldy at the Fife Ice Arena.
