The Stars take on Nottingham Panthers this Saturday evening at 7pm and will be wearing our uniquely designed Christmas Jumper jerseys and you will be able to get your hands on these bespoke game-worn tops at the live auction in the big bar during the first and second intervals.
Stars GM and Head Coach, Jeff Mason commented: “Events like the Teddy Bear Toss are something that is very big in our sport and it is all for a great cause.
“It certainly brings out the festive cheer and makes for a good night, and I have been a part of a number of these during my days and everyone seems to enjoy them.
“They are certainly a great thing to do and the Christmas jerseys put everyone in the festive mood, which is a great way to start off the holiday season and hopefully we can have a good performance and result to go along with the jerseys and the teddies.”
We encourage all Stars to fans to get into the festive spirit and wear a Christmas jumper on the night too and when the Stars score their first goal of the game, you can throw your new Teddy onto the ice in celebration!
This will be the first Teddy Toss since the 2019-2020 season and that year we saw a record-breaking numberof cuddly toys hit the ice.
We are delighted to have this tradition back on the calendar this year and for the benefit of the Ninewells Hospital Children’s Ward, Tay FM Mission Christmas, Help for Kids and Dundee Bairns.
There will also be a bucket collection on the night for anyone that wishes to make a financial donation instead and this collection will be split equally between Ninewell’s Childrens Ward and Dundee Bairns.
