Wallace, Callum – Featured 11 times for the club in the 2009-2010 Northern League campaign and most recently played for Cardiff Satans in the NIHL 2.
Ward, Charlie – Was part of the goaltending team for the Stars in the 2004/2005 British National League season and the 2005/2006 Northern League and Scottish National League campaigns. A family member of the Stars owners, the Ward family, Charlie played 20 times for the club during his two seasons and last played for the Dundee Comets in 2013/2014.
Ward, Patrick – Was a Star for one season and in the 2003/2004 BNL campaign and the Scottish-born-Aussie played 54 times, assisting on 11 goals. The defender most recently played for Newcastle Northstars in the Australian Ice Hockey League in 2018/2019.
Watkins, Jack – Played his only season outside of England with the Stars in 2012/2013 and the forward from Durham iced in 60 games, recording 5 points, as a then 20-year-old.
Wetmore, Riley – Captained the Stars during the 2015/2016 season, scoring 15 goals and assisting 38 times for 53 points. The centreman from Vermont, USA, previously played in the American Hockey League before moving to Scotland and his year in Dundee would be the last of his professional career.
White, Matt – Played one season with the Stars and scored 25 points in 65 appearances in the 2016/2017 campaign. The American center helped the club to reach their first Elite League Playoff Finals Weekend and retired from pro hockey after leaving Scotland.
Whitley, Chris – Defended the Stars net during the 2011/2012 season and helped the team to reach the quarter-finals of the playoffs. The Canadian netminder started 63 games and in his 53 league appearances, he held a save percentage of .896 per cent and a goals against average of 3.70. Whitely later returned to ice with Elite League rivals, Cardiff Devils, the following season and would retire after 2013.
Wiita, Martin – Was one of the first ever players to join the club and the Swede played a big role in helping the team to win a BNL League Title and Playoff Championship in the first ever season. Wiita played a total of two years in Dundee and in his second campaign added 63 more points (19G, 44A) to his previous 72 (19G, 53A) from the 2001/2002 season.
Wirll, Mike – Spent two years in Tayside and played in over 100 games Elite League games for the club between 2012 and 2014. The Canadian winger totalled 111 points (50G, 61A) for the Stars and most recently iced with Lethbridge Lightning of the Ranchland Hockey League during the 2019/2020 season.
Wishart, Gary – Came from Fife but became a Stars legend after spending seven years in Dundee between 2002 and 2012. The forward joined the club for their 2002/2003 British National League campaign and three years later departed, only to return in 2008 and help the club in the Northern League and then in their step up to the Elite League. The two-time alternate captain played in a Stars jersey 290 times and racked up a total of 177 points (76G, 101A).
Wynne, Teeder – Joined the Stars ahead of their inaugural season back in 2001/2002 and with him, he brought a wealth of experience in the British game after spending the three previous years with Sheffield Steelers and Ayr Scottish Eagles. Across his two seasons with the Stars, the Canadian forward appeared in 110 games for the club and accumulated 240 points (102G, 138A).
THE OTHER STUFFF
WHITLEY WARRIORS
The Stars spent five years competing against the English outfit, WHITLEY WARRIORS in the Northern League.
The first season they met was in 2005/2006, when Dundee achieved a third place finish, three spots ahead of the Warriors. Only five point separated the two sides, but the Stars had won six games compared to Whitley’s three.
The following year, Whitley topped the Stars by finish second on 30 points, with Dundee in fourth on 25.
However, in the 2007/2008 campaign, Dundee then finished second, nine points clear of the warriors in ninth, who won 15 games, compared to the Stars 19.
Then in 2008/2009, the teams reversed once more as the Stars came in fourth, with Whitley finishing one point ahead of the Taysiders to claim third spot.
Finally, in the 2009/2010 season, the met for the final time and the Stars ended the year in third place and eight points behind them were the Warriors in fourth.
