The Stars go to Wales with the aim of holding onto their place in the playoffs after securing two vitals points in a 3-1 win last night.
With Glasgow Clan losing 7-3 in Coventry against the Blaze, Dundee moved above them into eighth place and are a point ahead of the Clan.
They are also now just three points behind Manchester and have two games in hand over the Storm and one over Glasgow.
However, those two sides face each other again tonight in Manchester. On Friday, the Storm were 2-0 winners in Glasgow.
The Stars stopped the Storm from going two for two on the road this weekend. However the Stars found themselves 1-0 down after Frankie Melton gave the visitors the lead on the night, just 24 seconds into period two.
Kevin Dufour then tied the game up on 31 minutes with his powerplay strike. Moving onto the third period, Anthony Beauregard scored three minutes from time to give Stars their first lead of the game.
Dufour finished an empty netter in the final minute to make it 3-1 and seal the points for Dundee and also make it a three-point game for himself and line mate Beauregard.
Forward, Alex Schoenborn was not in the line-up due to injury and the Stars also lost defender, Reilly O’Connor in the second period to a lower body injury and he may be unavailable for tonight’s fixture.
Meanwhile, the Devils were thrashed 7-3 in Nottingham last night, as they blew one-goal leads on two separate occasions against the Panthers.
Evan Mosey and Joey Martin (2) were on the scoresheet for Andrew Lord’s men but Mark Louis, Stephen Dixon and Sean Bentivoglio were all missing from the Cardiff roster.
This is the last time in their league campaign that Dundee will visit the Viola Arena and they go into Cardiff with some confidence as the last time they faced the reigning playoff champions, they sent the Welsh club home pointless.
A 5-2 win gave Omar Pacha’s men their first victory against the Devils this season in four attempts and Egils Kalns, Dufour, Matt Carter, Beauregard and Matt Marquardt provided Dundee’s goals, while Gleason Fournier struck twice for Andrew Lord’s side.
Looking ahead to their final league trip to Cardiff, Dundee defenseman, Drydn Dow said: “These games are very important, we need to play every game like a do or die game from this point on.
“Wins on the road especially against teams like Cardiff are huge and would be a big help on increasing our odds of making the post-season.
“So, we need to play defensively sound against a team like that and make sure that when we get our chances, we capitalise on them.”
Sunday’s game in Cardiff will face-off at 4pm.
