A 4-3 win over Manchester Storm and a 3-1 victory in Fife against the Flyers marked a successful weekend for the Stars.
The Canadian blueliner was on the scoresheet twice as he netted the third goal in Saturday’s home game before opening the scoring in Kirkcaldy the next night.
Dirk’s first goal in a competitive game as a Dundee player came after he drifted in late while his teammates attacked the Storm goal.
He then skated onto a loose rebound and wasted no time in firing the puck into a gaping goal as the Manchester goaltender was caught out of position.
On Sunday, Jagger was on the end of a long-range pass from Egils Kalns that put him in behind the Flyers defence and with just the netminder to beat, Dirk sent his shot out of Adam Morrison’s reach.
Speaking about his first two goals, the 26-year-old said: “Obviously it feels good personally, but I was happier that it gave the team the goals we needed to win.
“Manchester and Fife are two good teams, so every goal we can score is important.”
The Tayside team showed some much-improved performances at the weekend and Dirk listed a few things he felt the team had improved upon.
He added: “I think we were moving our feet better and pressuring our opponents last weekend.
“We were taking away their time and space and as a result we were able to win the puck more and to play more in the offensive zone and as anyone will tell you it is much easier to play in there than it is in the neutral or defensive zones.
“We we just need to keep improving on that and that will give us a good chance against Belfast on Saturday.”
With just a single fixture for Omar Pacha’s men this week in the form of a trip to Northern Ireland, Jagger highlighted the importance of continuing their good form against a top side like the Giants.
He said: “We were obviously extremely happy with the way the weekend went and we were again extremely happy to get two wins and the four points but at the same time we are not satisfied.
“It is extremely important that we continue to concentrate on the process and the things that we have done over the past weekend that have made us successful.
“Everyone knows that Belfast are a really good team, so we need to finish our hits, take away time and space from their top guys and if we do that then I fancy our chances of getting another positive result over there.”
