The Stars will prepare for the new campaign with four preseason matches against a pair of opposition, including their arch rivals Fife Flyer and Canadian side, Université Du Québec À Trois-Riviéres Patriotes.
The first exhibition games will see the Flyers visit the DIA on Saturday, August 24 and then the Stars will travel across to Kirkcaldy the following day before the Patriotes from the USports league, arrive on Tayside for two matches on Thursday, August 29 and Sunday, September 1.
A week later, the Stars will open their Challenge Cup campaign with a double header of home group stage games against Belfast Giants on Saturday, September 7 and then Glasgow Clan on Sunday, September 8.
The first taste of league action then comes as Dundee start their regular season at home against Manchester Storm on Saturday, September 21 and the opening month has the Stars playing on home ice, seven times.
The first road trip weekend of the season then follows shortly after with trips to Guildford Flames and Cardiff Devils scheduled for October 12 and 13.
With the new Challenge Cup format, teams in Group A now play each other four times, twice home and away, so the final group stage matches will conclude in November with road games against Belfast and Glasgow on Sunday, 3 November and Friday, 8 November.
The first Tayside Derby of the league campaign then takes place at the DIA on Sunday, November 10 and a few weeks later, the Christmas period approaches.
The festive season is always a busy time in hockey and this year’s schedule is no different with 11 games pencilled in for the final month of 2024.
As we approach the holidays, the Stars will clash with the Clan in back-to-back games, starting in Glasgow on Saturday, 21 and then back on Tayside on Sunday, 22.
The annual Boxing Day clash with Fife Flyers takes place in Kirkcaldy and the reverse fixture in Dundee on Thursday, December 28, before the final matches of the year has the Stars meeting the Giants in Belfast on Monday, December 30 and welcoming them back to Scotland for another Hogmanay classic in Dundee.
After a few days of rest, the Stars will hit the ice for the first time in 2025 as they head out on the road for a clash in South Wales with Cardiff Devils on Saturday, January 3 and they then return to home ice the next day against the Storm.
A second road trip weekend comes in March with another double-header against Cardiff and Guildford on Saturday, 15 and Sunday, 16.
Then only a few weeks later, the final weekend of the regular season takes place at the start of April with the final road game being in Glasgow on Friday, 4 and the final home game will be on Sunday, 6 against the Flyers.
The playoffs then begin the following week with the Quarter-Finals taking place over the weekend of April, 12 and 13 and the Playoff Finals Weekend in Nottingham will be held on April 19 and 20.
