The 25-year-old attacker, joins the club from Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL, where last season he iced 66 times and scored 39 points (23G, 16A) in his first full professional year.
Born in Rochester Hills, Michigan, Parrottino played four years of college hockey with Michigan Tech in the NCAA and in a total of 124 appearances with the Huskies, he collected 66 points (37G, 29A) before turning pro at the end of his senior year, icing twice with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads in the 2021-2022 campaign.
The 6-foot-tall forward also played for three United States Hockey League (USHL) teams before joining Michigan Tech, where he would be chosen as ‘Most Improved Player’ in 2019-2020 and he began with the United States National Development Program, appearing in two matches for their junior team and twice more for the U.S. National U18 side.
Parrottino’s move to the USNTDP came at the end of the 2015-2016 season, after he posted 53 points in 32 games with Oakland Jr. Grizzlies U18, but the following year he would be drafted second overall by Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL Entry Draft and would go on to score 20 points in 45 matches for the Iowa club.
In the 2017-2018 campaign, Tommy joined Youngstown Phantoms and was named as an alternate captain for his second full season in the USHL, in which he posted 14 goals and 16 assists across 56 games, before moving on to join the Huskies in the NCAA.
Parrottino also grew up playing through the Little Caesars youth teams in Michigan, icing for them at U13, U14 and U16 level and weighing in at 170lbs, the left-shot forward has also represented Team Royal in the USA-S17 tournament in the 2015-2016 season.
LEFEBVRE ON PARROTTINO
Once the deal to sign Parrottino was completed, Stars Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach, Marc LeFebvre, said: “Tommy is a good young forward, who brings a lot of skill and a lot of skating ability to our line-up.
“He had 23 goals as a rookie in the ECHL last year and I do not care who you are, that is a great season for a rookie.
“Because he had such a good year as a rookie last season, most guys will stay over in North America and try to play in the American Hockey League or get a two-way contract, but he wanted to pursue something in Europe and we were able to get a deal done.”
LeFebvre continued: “We know he can put the puck in the net and we hope he can do that for us because we want to push the pace of the game and he brings a lot of speed with him as well.
“He has a great skillset and we are looking for him to use all his assets to help us win and we want to be a tough team to play against but we also need some skill upfront and Tommy brings that.
“You see some of the goals he scores, he has a great shot, a great finish and he is going to be a great player for us and because he is such a young player, the sky is the limit for him.
“He just has to keep on a great trajectory now and keep his goalscoring ability, obviously we will be working to help transition his game from the North American to the European style as well and I am looking forward to working with him.”

PARROTTINO ON HIS FIRST MOVE TO EUROPE
Once his move to Dundee was confirmed, an ecstatic Tommy said: “I am very excited and delighted to get out there and get started.
“It was a hard decision with family and friends and the life side of things but the hockey side was a no-brainer, I have heard great things about the city, so I am excited.
“I have heard good things about the Elite League and that it is steadily improving, more and more guys are going over there and having success, and that sounded very appealing to me.
“I am definitely coming over with the idea that we are going to win and going to win it all, you have to hate losing more than you love winning.”
Explaining how LeFebvre convinced him to make Dundee his new home, Tommy added: “It was not exactly one thing he said, it was the conversations we had and how personable he was and excited to have me, because you always want to play for someone who wants you there and wants to see you succeed, so I think that was a big part of why.”

In his 12-year-career so far, Tommy has featured in 428 matches, recorded 175 goals, 147 assists and collected 70 penalty minutes, while also playing in 13 playoff games, where he tallied 12 points (6G, 6A) and 14 penalty minutes.
Tommy is our 13th signing of the summer and joins Drydn Dow, Lucas Brine, Kris Inglis, Jonathan McBean, Craig Moore, Craig Garrigan, Johnny Walker, Josh Brittain, Chris McKay, Ryan Valentini, Brendan Harms and Carter Johnson on the roster for next season.
