The Stars and Giants go head-to-head for a chance to finish the regular season on a high as Dundee look to close out the year with a win in front of their fans, by beating the Northern Irish side for the first time this campaign.
Meanwhile, Belfast will aim to continue their bulldozing form as they head into the playoffs as the number one seeds and yesterday saw them dismantle Guildford Flames with a 6-1 win in the SSE Arena to secure their third consecutive league title.
The Stars were on the wrong end of a 4-0 result in Kirkcaldy last night as they were beaten by Fife Flyers but will want to bounce back in their final game as a group.
Brython Preece made his eighth start of the season and Dundee were missing three forwards as Jonathan McBean, Ben Brown and Romans Semjonovs were all unavailable.
Speaking after last night’s game, Stars Head Coach, Jeff Mason said: “It was not the result we were looking for, we had a number of opportunities to score and take the lead early in that game, but we could not get one past Shane Owen.
“He is a goalie that once he is settled in, he is very tough to beat and he played extremely well tonight and made a number of really big saves.
“Then when it started to go against us it was really hard to pull it back, they played really hard and they still have some life left to get into the playoffs, so it did not go our way tonight.
“I thought the guys gave a good effort in that third period and they kept on pushing, they could have easily quit on that game, so it is certainly disappointing.
“We have one more opportunity tomorrow in front of our fans to try and finish on a high note and that is what we intend on trying to do.”
