The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars are delighted to announce that Saturday 3rd December game versus the Nottingham Panthers will be our annual Teddy Bear Toss and Christmas Jumper Night.

The Stars will be wearing a bespoke Christmas Jumper jersey on the night and these will be auctioned off live in the big bar during the first and second intervals if required.

We will release the design of the jerseys in due course and we encourage all Stars to fans to get into the festive spirit and wear a Christmas jumper on the night too.

As for the Teddy Bear Toss, this special night had been missing from last season’s calendar due to Covid protocols but we are delighted that we can bring back the very popular Teddy Bear Toss.

A record breaking amount of cuddly toys hit the ice last time as we continue this ice hockey tradition for the benefit of the Ninewells Hospital Children’s Ward, Tay FM Mission Christmas, Help for Kids and Dundee Bairns.

There will be a bucket collection on the night for anyone that wishes to make a financial donation instead. This collection will be split equally between Ninewell’s Childrens Ward and Dundee Bairns.

Dundee Stars Commercial and Community Manager, Michael Ward looked ahead to this season’s teddy toss fixture by commenting:

“The Teddy Toss game has always been a fantastic night and this year will be extra special as it has been missing from the calendar for quite a while.

“We will be hosting the Nottingham Panthers that night and once we hit the back of the net, the bears can hit the ice.

“Stars fans have truly bought into the tradition and we are delighted to welcome it back.

“We think hosting the Christmas Jumper night on the same night will also get everyone into the festive spirit.

“Politely we ask that fans only bring along new cuddly toys, (ideally bagged in water proof bags) as preloved ones, unfortunately cannot be accepted from the Charities or Children’s Ward.”
