The Stars grizzled-veteran on the blueline has been a consistent and calming presence throughout the start of this season and his four seasons with the club, but this year’s campaign has also seen Dow re-discover his strong offensive output as well.
Through the first 17 games, the defenseman has scored one goal and assisted 10 times, with that lone goal and six of those assists coming in 11 league matches.
Just as the team found some form in the last few weeks, taking seven points from the last six matches, the 30-year-old has been regularly chipping in at the other end of the ice, as he collected five points across those six games.
Stars Head Coach, Jeff Mason then shared his thoughts on Dow’s start to the season, he said: “I think he has been really good for us and ideally, we soon can get a bit healthier on the back end and be able to cut some of his minutes down, because some nights he has been forced to play so much that you start to worry about fatigue.
“He has been a rock for us back there and he has contributed a lot offensively, and also he has played in every possible situation for us, so I am certainly pleased with his performances.
“Like I said, hopefully we can get a few more bodies back on the back end, so we can get him some rest and keep him fresh because I think he has started really well.”
