The Stars were 6-3 victors on Saturday night in Glasgow against the Clan and they then produced a 5-3 comeback win over their biggest rivals, Fife Flyers.
On the scoresheet were Dundee trio, Erik Näslund, Carter Folk and Devon Daniels, as all three scored in Sunday’s home win over Fife.
Whilst it was Folk’s second goal in his second home appearance, defensemen, Näslund and Daniels bagged their first as Stars and the electric atmosphere from the win over the Flyers has only increased the three players desire for more nights like those.
First to look back over his goal and the successful weekend was Swede, Näslund and he said: “It felt very nice to score.
“When you are playing against a former team it is always nice to win and even better to score, especially on the first shift, so it was a good start.
“Overall, we had a pretty good game and obviously they second period was not the best from us, but we started off really well and finished off well too, but most importantly got result.
“So, it was an okay game, not more than that and we know we have more in us, but the preseason is over now, so we have to step it up for the regular season.
“It is always nice going into a game when you have just beaten that team in the game before, so I think we are going into game with confidence and that will be good for us.”
Next up was Folk as he reflected on the two big wins, adding: “It was a good weekend, I think we built on some things and progressed from the previous week, and were able to keep our offensive chances coming, whilst tightening up the defence.
“So, that is always good and obviously it is always nice to get on the scoresheet and contribute that way, so overall a positive weekend.”
With the Stars winning both games in the third period, the Canadian forward continued: “You are always looking for a consistent effort over 60 minutes and we probably did not have that at times throughout the weekend.
“But to come out in the third period in both games and to start well, and get goals early to get us back in the game and then ahead, is massive.
“We know it is important to learn how to win, how to play in the third, how to play when you are down and when you are ahead, so that is important and we did a good job of that this weekend.”
Finally, Carter shared how excited he and the rest of the team are heading into a set of rematches this weekend, but with the key difference of four points being on the line.
He said: “The guys are ready for games that count now and Challenge Cup is obviously really important and to play those guys again will be really fun.
“The group is ready and we have really built on things throughout the last two weeks of camp, and feeling good about the game and feeling good about the group of guys that we have here.
“So, we will just keep building through this week of practice and see what we can do this weekend.”
Then, Canadian blueliner, Daniels talked through his first goal as a Star and Devon said: “I had a chance earlier that night and hit the post, so I was just hungry to get up on the play.
“I got a nice little takeaway in our d-zone, moved the puck up to Mac (Howlett) and stayed high, and he gave me a nice pass, so I just put it in and it felt really good to score in front of all the fans.
“I know it was just preseason, so I want to try and keep that going into the regular season and the Challenge Cup this weekend.”
The 24-year-old also discussed the big impact the players felt from the fans on Sunday, adding: “It is always nice to have the fans there and they were always loud, which gives us a lot of energy.
“So, it feels really good to have the fans there in those big games and when we are playing well you can really here them, which is awesome.”
