The 34-year-old Swede played twice over the past weekend as the Stars skated to back-to-back wins, with Svensson starting against Glasgow Clan on Saturday night, just two days after he arrived.
Reflecting on his first few days as a Star, Svensson said: “I flew into Scotland on Thursday and trained with the team on Friday and it felt okay, a little bit rusty.
“Then I played against Glasgow on Saturday and that felt good, maybe too good to be true actually.
“I felt confident in the goal and had a good sleep, then on Sunday we had a good first period, but the second was not as good and not great for me either.
“We were maybe a bit laid back but we have something to build on now, so we are ready to go.”
The native of Angelholm also shared his first impressions of the Elite League level, adding: “I know a couple of the guys in this league and they are very good, skilful players with pace and quick hands.
“So, you have to be quick on your feet and read the play well to compete against them, but the hockey here is a little bit different to playing in Sweden.
“Over there you can feel a little bit more calm – well most of the time – when you have the puck but the play changes very quickl, so you have to stay mentally ready all the time and that is the big difference, because the game is less structured.”
Finally, Svensson shared his excitement to get started with the regular season this weekend, as the Stars visit Fife Flyers, before hosting Glasgow Clan in a Challenge Cup double.
Anton said: “It is exciting and a lovely feeling, because we all love to compete and we have a good team, so we will be ready when the puck drops.”
