Watched it this morning and Im very impressed, especially when you live a few hudred miles away, keeps you in touch with the players.

You'll need McMorrow more against the likes of Nottingham, Belfast and Cardiff as they have some real heavyweights who WILL put it about. Also I wouldn't beat yourselves up with the result as Steelers were on a real roll on Saturday and probably carried it on to your game. The league needs your team along with Braehead and I'm sure Edinburgh are more than pleased to get more local opposition. Keep up the support and it will come good. The match night video has been sent off to the elite league....hopefully for use in their highlight show on friday night Sky.
 
Youngdog is currently editing the edition that will go on sale to the fans and hopefully will be ready at this weekends game....will let you know for defo asap.

Have to say I agree with most of the comments. I have been away from the Hockey since the BNL days. After the first period I was a little disappointed but the second and third periods reminded me of what I'd been missing! Its obvious from readin all the forums that fans are gonna be split over Seans play. Anyone who saw him play in the EIHL with Belfast will know hes not the best of hockey players, but he was brought over as an enforcer and for PR. As someone else stated in their post, other teams have enforcers, but they contribute to the scoring stats on a weekly basis. As for the result, id think the largest amount of complaints about the performance/team would have come from fans either new or returning after a few years and after all the hype, expecting a team to arrive and become the great team of years gone by overnight. However, as they pay their money the are entitled to their critisiscm, although it doesnt help the team on the ice. As I posted in a previous topic, give them 6-8 games to judge them. They're playing teams with players full of Elite experience and squads some of which have played together for a season or two. As for the crowd, heard it was officially about 1800, great crowd for a new team. Itll probably drop slightly and even out over the season, but its a good crowd and better than a good few of the other teams. Also noticed a few comments on how small the Sheffield travelling support was. Apart from a couple of teams, 50 or so travelling will be a half decent away support. You only have to look at how many Stars fans will take in the 11-12 hour round trip down next weekend. Doesnt look like their is a bus going down due to the lack of numbers. Unfortunately costs of 1 home and 1 away game will mean fans will pick what away games they can go to. Not being at the game, im posting on what people have posted and those that Ive spoken to who went on Sunday. Seems they were well beaten, but they had no preseason which makes it more difficult. Stars will have to be taking points of the "smaller teams" and hope they can get pick some up against the big guys. First season=survival and digging in to build for next season financially and squad wise.
