The Kitmart Dundee Stars are delighted to announce the signing of Anthony Beauregard for the 2019/20 Elite League season.
The 23-year old Canadian joins from East Coast Hockey League side, Brampton Beast.
The centerman began his career with Collège Antoine-Girouard Gaulois in the Quebec midget leagues before joining Quebec Major Junior Hockey League outfit, Val-d’Or Foreurs.
Between 2013 and 2016, the Saint-Damase, Quebec native iced in 207 matches and accumulated 223 points for Val-d’Or.
Beauregard then joined the ECHL’s Indy Fuel for the 2016-17 season, where he scored 10 points in 21 games.
In the same season, the five-foot-seven-inch forward began his university hockey career by switching over to play for Concordia University Stingers, who are a familiar team in Tayside as the Stingers came to the Dundee Ice Arena in 2008 for a friendly fixture against Stars.
In his second year with Concordia, Beauregard led the entire USports league in points.
He played in 28 games and netted 19 goals with 41 assists to top the scoring charts with 60 points before making another late move as American Hockey League side, Laval Rocket signed him up.
From 10 AHL games, Beauregard had a single goal and assist before returning to the ECHL to play for Brampton Beast in the following season.
Last season, seen him score 10 goals and assist on 18 more in 67 appearances for Brampton and in a total of 89 career playoff matches, Beauregard has 26 goals and 48 assists for 74 points.
Anthony has been drafted twice in his career, firstly in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft in round six at #102 overall by Val-d’Or Foreurs and again in the 2017 Ligue Nord-Américane de Hockey draft, where he was selected in round nine, at #50 overall by Trois-Rivières Blizzard CNS.
Beauregard has also won numerous accolades during his hockey life, back in 2013-14 he was a QMJHL champion with Val-d’Or Foreurs and in 2015-16 he was named to the QMJHL Second All-Star Team.
The Canadian also racked-up many awards in his second year with Concordia as he was named to the 2017-18 CIS (OUA East) First All-Star Team and All-Canadian First Team.
Beauregard was also chosen as the CIS Most Valuable Player, Outstanding Player in League Play and Player of the Year, as well as picking up the awards for most assists with 41.
Once Beauregard put pen to paper, Stars head coach Omar Pacha said:
“We really wanted to add a bit more skill upfront and Anthony is a guy that was a CIS player of the year, two years ago and he is a highly skilled guy and his vision is incredible.
“He is a small guy that always competes really hard but as I said we were looking for a skilled guy to be a top six forward and I think he will fit perfectly.
“Even though he isn’t the biggest guy he has a big heart and he wants to win and he is young too, he has a lot of potential and that is what we want.
“We want to try and get a few guys to have a lot of potential, Anthony is only 23-years old.
“Being a right-handed shot as well, he still managed to score goals in the CIS and juniors, so you can tell he has offence and maybe last year he was playing a role that wasn’t the best for him and now we are looking for more offensive production from him.”
After agreeing to make the switch across the Atlantic, Anthony said: “I am really excited, it is going to be my first year in Europe.
“I know some guys there like Shawn (Boutin) and I know some things from what the head coach has told me, I think it is going to be fun.
“From the conversations I had with Omar, I just found that it was a perfect fit for me to come to Dundee.
“I just want to prove to everybody that I can be a good player.”

Anthony is our tenth signing of the summer and will join Drydn Dow, Jordan Cownie, Craig Garrigan, Kris Inglis, Matt Marquardt, Shawn Boutin, Alex Leclerc, Justin Maylan and Duncan Speirs at the DIA this September.
Beauregard will wear #19 for Dundee this year.
