Dundee Stars were delighted to present our V&A-themed Scottish Cup jersey to world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma yesterday morning.
The jerseys, which were designed by Dundee University student Lucy Hendry, are inspired by Kuma’s stunning waterfront V&A museum design.
The Japanese architect, who was recently chosen to design the 2020 Olympic stadium in Tokyo, loved the design of the jersey and we were thrilled to present him with his own personalised shirt.
Stars commercial manager Elliot Shaw commented, “I am thrilled with the success of our limited edition Scottish Cup jersey. It was great to partner up with our sponsors at the University of Dundee to design the shirt and it was fantastic to see Mr Kuma’s reaction”.
Dundee City Council leader Councillor John Alexander said: “The superb design of the Stars Scottish cup Jersey reflects the iconic status of V&A Dundee and shows the excitement that is building ahead of its opening.
“I am delighted to see how people show their support for both sport and culture in our city.
“It was a pleasure to help present Kengo Kuma with the jersey at this stunning structure.”
The club were also delighted to donate the V&A museum with a framed jersey ahead of its grand opening in September.
