Dundee roll-off the back of a huge win over their local rivals the Fife Flyers, as they head into Sheffield to take on the current reigning play-off champions, the Steelers, who have won three out of their last four games.
After a disappointing 7-4 loss in Belfast, Omar Pacha’s men bounced back to claim a 7-5 victory on home ice against Fife, putting them second in the Challenge Cup standings.
Goals were not in short supply for Dundee last weekend as Jimmy Jensen was on the scoresheet four times, Johan Andersson grabbed a pair and Adam Harding, Joey De Concilys, Malcolm Gould, Chris Lawrence and Riley Stadel also found the net.
Chris Lawrence is doubtful to feature in Tuesday’s Elite League game after being involved in a knee-on-knee collision against Fife. Dundee didn’t have the best record in Sheffield last season but they did shutout Paul Thompson’s Orange Army last November in a 4-0 win at the DIA.
The Stars were in close contention with the Steelmen in every game they played, as Dundee lost 5-4 at home, on a shootout, then 4-2 and 5-4 at Ice Sheffield
Omar Pacha wants a more favourable result for his side and believes if they stick to their game they can beat, a better Sheffield side.
Omar said: “It will be a great test tomorrow to see us play one of the better teams in the league. It’s always a challenge going to Sheffield to get the points, though, if we play to our strengths and play within our system will give ourselves a good chance to win the game.”
Face-off is at 7:30pm at Ice Sheffield.
