We welcome Pete Russell and the Milton Keynes Lightning to the DIA for the first time since the side stepped-up to the Elite League.

Dundee will be looking to bounce back from last night’s derby defeat in Kirkcaldy.

The Lightning have pulled off some huge results in their inaugural EIHL season beating the Coventry Blaze 7-4, Cardiff Devils 5-2, Braehead Clan 3-1 and the Belfast Giants 6-3.

A noticeable move was Matt Nickerson, who joined the GB Head Coach’s side after departing Belfast in the summer. The Ex-Fife Flyer has joined up with other Elite League players who have signed with the expansion team, including Carl Hudson, Guillaume Doucet, Jonathon Boxhill, Ashley Tait, James Griffin, Paul Phillips and Miika Wiikman.

Jordan Cownie faces his old club for the first time since signing with the Stars; he was part of the Lightning for three seasons and helped the team to a EPIHL play-off championship and lifted the EPIHL Cup last season.

Chris Lawrence is an experienced Elite Player and gave his thoughts on facing a new franchise for the first time: “It is always exciting playing a new team, they are an aspect of the unknown but looking at their lineup they have some veterans as well.

“It will be a good test whenever trying to score on Mikka Wiikman as a he is a premier goaltender in the league, the good thing is we have one of our own in Fullerton.

“I’m confident in our players to get the job done and keep growing as a team and coach Pacha will have them ready to go!”
