Q. What is it like to play for your hometown team?

A. It’s a great feeling as it is what I always aspired to do from the day I started playing. Playing for the team you grew up supporting is something that makes me really proud.

Q. What’s the best part about living in Dundee?

A. Being close with family and friends.

Q. Do you have a second career for when you are not playing hockey?

A. I’m currently in my second year at Dundee University studying Forensic Anthropology.

Q. What was it like to come through the Dundee youth system?

A. It was always a lot of fun and I picked up a lot of good things from my coaches through the years.

Q. What is your favourite moment with Dundee so far?

A. Playing Braehead at home in the quarter-final of the playoffs is a game that I’ll always remember. The atmosphere was incredible!

Q. What/who made you want to play hockey?

A. I used to go skating and thought I’d give it a try and loved the sport the moment I stepped on the ice.

Q. What is your pre-game meal and rituals?

A. I always like to have a nap before games and drink lots of water. I’ll have some tuna pasta and some fruit too.

Q. What’s the weirdest pre-game ritual you’ve seen?

A. Common answer but probably Emerson taking all of his gear off after warmups and in between periods.

Q. What do you do to drive yourself to get better every day/season?

A. Work hard on and off the ice and always listen and take on board any advice I’m given.

Q. Who is the best player you have played with?

A. D wise it would be Félix-Antoine Poulin and as a forward, Vinny Scarsella was unbelievable.

Q. Who were your hockey role models whilst growing up?

A. Kris Letang of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Q. How does the Elite League compare with the other leagues you have played in?

A. The only other league I have played in is the SNL. The main difference is the speed, strength and skill of the players. Stepping up to the Elite League takes a bit of adjusting to the fast pace of other teams but it’s a transition I am really enjoying.

Q. How do you deal with the long travel journey’s?

A. I try to sleep as long as possible and kill the rest of the time by watching Netflix or catching up on university work.

Q. What was it like to play for Scotland on quite a few occasions?

A. It’s always a great honour representing my country. It took me to some amazing places in Europe and I made great friends along the way.

Q. What has your four years with SNL side, Dundee Comets been like?

A. So far I have had a great time with the Comets and we had a very successful last season when we won the playoffs and Scottish Cup.

Q. How have your first two seasons with Stars been and also now that you are playing every week with the Elite League squad?

A. It’s been awesome playing with and against some amazing players and playing in front of big crowds in the best arenas in the UK.

Q. What NHL team did you grow up supporting?

A. Pittsburgh Penguins.

Q. What is your favourite moment from your career so far?

A. My first game for the Stars last season playing on home ice.

Q. Where do you want to be in 10 years?

A. Hopefully to have a career linked to my university degree and to also be helping out with the Stars junior development.

Q. What is the best thing about the Dundee Stars fans?

A. The fans here are great and get right behind us. When the building is full and noisy it really drives us forward
